Biography

Tony Webb is obviously a very dedicated father - although hardly earning a fortune himself he was prepared to spend all his savings to bankroll his son's career playing in (and getting kicked out of) a succession of crappy punk bands. To many observers it seemed that Tony was either overly supportive or perhaps simply extremely gullible, but in the end it appeared that he was amazingly intuitive because the son morphed into Gary Numan and became a star. Since that time Tony's intuition has been somewhat less infallible - Gary's endorsement contract with DeLorean cars promised much but delivered nothing, the money invested on Gary's behalf in Baring's bank disappeared completely, and the guy who sold him London Bridge turned out to be a really clever con man.

Tony is well aware that the older guys normally get voted off pretty early on in the series, but he has developed a strategy which he believes will help him to overcome this disadvantage - he's going to bribe the show's producer to make sure he doesn't get the boot. He intends to make sure all these exchanges of money are recorded on videotape, as his money will run out before long, so he needs to be able to fall back on blackmail to ensure his continued survival within the tribe.
