Biography

Although he is now concentrating on his career as a pilot with Plummet Airways, John Webb spent many years as a member of his brother Gary Numan's band. He first landed that job after Gary was impressed by John's air guitar playing at home in their Mum's house when watching Top of the Pops. Gary thought John was a natural when it came to pretending to play music, and so immediately arranged for John to become his miming saxophone player for his next tour. This was very successful, and over the years John developed an interest in pretending to play all sorts of instruments. During the 1990s John's passion for flying gained the ascendency, and he eventually gave up his music career to become a pilot. He denies that he just sits there looking important whilst the co-pilot does the actual flying, though he has yet to fully explain how else the plane gets landed whilst he's shagging a stewardess in the toilet.

John is under no illusions as to what will be the biggest challenge for him in Survivor - the starvation diet. Always a big eater, John expects to lose at least 100 pounds during the series; maybe more if he survives to the second episode before being booted off the tribe.
