GARY NUMAN 2007 AUSTRALIAN TOUR

At last! Gary Numan's first Australian tour since 1980 is about to happen. Gigs are now being arranged for March/April 2007. So far only a handful of venues have been confirmed, but apparently this is going to be a major effort to make a mark in the Australian market, so many more gigs are to be expected.

Initially, it was hoped that large venues would be booked, but with the new album's Aussie sales expected to be in single figures this just wasn't possible. Still, any gig is better than no gig, isn't it?

The venues confirmed so far are as follows :

March 28th Ringwood RSL, Melbourne Opening for "Bananas in Pyjamas" stage show
March 29th Mona Vale, Sydney My nephew's 7th birthday party.
(I was going to book a clown, but I thought this would be much better)
April 1st Circular Quay, Sydney Between 2pm and 4pm Gary will be busking in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art, between the guy with bagpipes and the digeridoo player. nb the gig may end early if he gets moved on by the police.
April 2nd Pitt Street, Sydney In the phone booth outside "Just Jeans"
April 3rd Sydney harbour Gary and his band will be providing the music for the "Captain Cook" afternoon coffee cruise.
April 7th Wagga Wagga RSL club Supporting Tony Romero's "Tribute to Tony Orlando and Dawn" Show. Book early, as Tony Romero is very popular in Wagga, so the gig is likely to sell out well in advance.
April 10th Hindley Street, Adelaide In Timezone, next to the Hulk Hogan pinball machine.
April 11th Glenelg, South Australia In the tram shelter. Gary will be filling in for Bobo the Wonder Dog, who normally performs there but who will be visiting the vet to be neutered on that day.
